Are provincial schools really inferior to city schools?

    Not in the case of CSU-College of Allied Health Sciences as she obtained a one hundred per cent passing rate in the September 2016 Respiratory Therapy Licensure Exams as all her 49 bets hurdled the said tests. Of the 49 passers, Darlene Jully Caleda landed in Top 5 while Meryl Melad copped the Top 9 spot.

    The Respiratory Therapy examinees duplicated the 100% passing feat of the Medical Technology board passers of the College, making it a double golden victory for CSU-CAHS.

    In a span of three years since her first batch of RT graduates took the board exams in 2014, the College made a steady climb to the top as she posted a 90% passing grade in 2014, 96% in 2015 with three topnotchers namely Vienna Mei Ledesma, Top 3; Alvin Guevarra, Top 7; and Marion Dane Velasco, Top 10, until lately when finally the College got a 100% passing rate.

When asked to comment, CAHS Dean Julius T. Capili disclosed that the success of the RT in the board exams proves that CAHS excels not just in Medical Technology, but in Respiratory Therapy as well. “Now it can be told – the quality of education provided by CSU-CAHS cannot be underestimated nor doubted,” he said.

     “The rigid preparations, sustained monitoring, and extensive mentoring of the students has paid off. I’m glad that the students’ sacrifices have been rewarded,” Dean Capili added.

     Still in a state of euphoria when interviewed, Prof. Nancy Martinez, RT Program Coordinator, was almost speechless and could utter only five words: “To God be the glory!” When she got back to her senses, she intimated that she was already proud of the consecutive ratings of 90% and 96% with three topnotchers in the last two years, but now, she is overjoyed and extremely thankful to God that the ultimate goal of the College has been achieved.

    RT Prof. Krisha Hipolito also disclosed that in one of her meetings with the RT board takers, they expressed their fears that they might not match the performance of the Med Tech board passers. “They told me that the pressure was on them to give their best,” Prof. Hipolito said,  “after learning that all the 89 MT examinees made it in the board exams. ”

“Probably, their desire to equal the feat of the Med Tech batch was a big motivational factor for them. Luckily, they all passed,” Prof. Hipolito ended.

      In celebration of the double victory of the College, a motorcade around Tuguegarao City for all the board passers of both Medical Technology and Respiratory Therapy courses shall be held on September 19.

As fitting recognition of their achievements, CSU-CAHS shall tender a testimonial dinner for the successful Medical Technology examinees and their parents on September 26, and another one for the Respiratory Therapy board passers and their parents on September 27, each to be held at Hotel Roma, Tuguegarao City.

     Collectively, the Dean, Faculty and Staff attribute the double victory of CAHS to the Lord as they are one in saying, “To God be the glory.”
