TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY
Go Wild for Life, Combat Biodiversity Loss”
by: Rosalia B. Cabalza
No single organization or individual can make the campaign to save mother earth truly successful. It is only by encouraging the community of advocates will the environmental crisis become part of the national consciousness. Otherwise, it will continue to receive little attention, not only from government but also from the community as well. The purpose of this activity aims to educate the community of the importance of planting trees, they being the families who are vulnerable to floods during typhoons,
The Cagayan State University, College of Allied Health Sciences conducted a Tree Planting Activity in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Provincial Office and the barangay Council of Atulayan Sur in celebration of the National Arbor Day.
The activity was attended by the personnel coming from the DENR provincial office headed by Rolando A. Siggayo, faculty and students of the College of Allied Health Sciences and the active barangay council of Atulayan Sur, Tuguegarao City thru the leadership of the barangay captain Virginia Tumaliuan.
The tree planting activity started with a short lecture by Mrs. Evelyn Contillo and company. Right after the short lecture, the different participating groups started with the tree planting activity.
It was indeed a very fulfilling activity of the College. Our sincerest gratitude to the generosity of the DENR- Provincial office for the Narra seedlings, to the supportive barangay council of Atulayan Sur and lastly to the faculty and students of the College of Allied Health Sciences for the support in the realization of the activity.
